Rich Angel Salon is a new salon in a very competitive market. Located in Santa Monica, Ca which is just west of Los Angeles, Santa Monica is an influential California coastal city. With competitors who have been in business for 10+ years, and have entrenched their presence not just online but also in the community. The initial challenges were first to overcome the obvious lack of presence on Google Local and Maps.
The next hill to climb was the lack of reviews that had been received in the first few months of opening their doors. Reviews being the lifeblood of any salon, this was only possible if the customer count was increased. Which quickly developed into a chicken/egg scenario where they needed more customers to get more reviews, yet were still struggling as a new business to gain traction on Google.
The final challenge was the budget, being a new business that required a large investment for interior design left little for advertising once the salon was open for business. This meant that they needed an experienced team to help them get over their initial challenges and onto a steady flow of new customers to continuously keep their their 16 nail bar stations busy everyday.
The solution to help Rich Angel Salon increase leads, optimize their presence on Google Local Places and Google Maps, while lowing their acquisition costs to an affordable level was three-fold. We started with a beautiful new website that allowed their customers to schedule appointments with any stylists directly from the website. This removed a layer of effort for the customer by expediting the actual scheduled appointment.
The next thing we did was to implement a one-to-one review process, where every stylist was responsible for asking each customer they serviced for a 5-star review. Once this became a habit for them, the reviews started to pour in on a weekly basis. Now its such a normal thing that each stylist understands that asking for reviews is part of their job.
Finally we optimized their Google Local Places, Maps and search engine optimization by adding rich content and other elements that send a message to Google that this merchant is taking their placement and customers seriously. We then created specific paid adverting campaigns that allowed the salon a permanent top spot in Google Places and Google Maps.
