Lovely Lies is a Canadian based B2B clothing wholesaler, selling their own line of women’s clothing internationally under the corporate name of JL Intimates. This company had long wanted to break into the retail market but as with many of our B2B wholesale clients, their internal retail knowledge was limited.
Affordable Marketing was asked to develop a retail marketing strategy starting with an ecommerce website for the lingerie brand. They have since expanded over the years adding their own brand of women’s, and even some of their competitors brands as well.
Adding a variety of different brands meant adding a complex feed system that could add products to a myriad of retail marketplaces and other sales venues on an international scale. In the feed system it was necessary to maintain a flawless inventory systems, and ensure all sales were accurately recorded in the Shopify store for expedited shipping.
We began this clients journey in 2017 with several in-person meetings between our teams, at their Los Angeles corporate offices located in the Garment District in Los Angeles, CA. We created a high-level action list of the top items our client wanted to ensure were addressed first. Then we moved onto a more technical conversation about the ecommerce platform, and the product feed systems we would create to ensure maximum visibility on the marketplaces and partner websites.
The team at Lovely Lies were experts in manufacturing, and B2B wholesale sales but have relatively little experience in retail. We helped to bridge this knowledge gap with the marketing strategy and created a touch-point document to ensure the widest range of potential customers would have the chance to view their products daily.
We came back to this project in 2024 after the launch of Shopify 2.0, to upgrade their Shopify template and optimize their website. With years having passed they needed some structural improvements, which we performed at a minimal cost to help them get up to speed with current technologies. Finally, we optimized their Google Merchant account and created new shopping campaigns in their Google Ads account.
